Do you have 1 hour a week to help a student read?

Be a Lighthouse This Year!
Volunteer with Literacy Lighthouse
Just 1 hour can help a child grow in reading confidence, feel seen, and experience belonging.
Literacy Lighthouse is a faith-based community literacy program serving students and families in the Fair Oaks neighborhood (Marietta) through stories, tutoring, encouragement, and meaningful relationships.

Why the Literacy Lighthouse Exists
God’s work of renewal always takes shape in particular places.
In Smyrna and the Fair Oaks community, gaps in access to literacy—whether reading, financial, or biblical—can limit participation, confidence, and long-term stability for individuals and families. These gaps are not merely technical problems, but relational and formative ones.
The Literacy Lighthouse exists to respond to poverty through biblically informed action that holds together practical skill development and spiritual formation, trusting that flourishing emerges where learning, dignity, and belonging grow side by side.
